Schools of Context is a study programme that stems from a desire to look after Barcelona’s own artistic context, placing the emphasis on making available training resources, lines of research and meeting spaces for the city’s artistic community. The goal of ‘making context’ through practice is therefore reformulated as one of the backbones of La Capella, leading to a number of stable sub-programmes dedicated to the performativity of the voice, textuality, LGTBIQ+ culture, the notion of bookstore and institutional self-learning per se.

Schools of Context began implementing its dynamics in October 2022, rehearsing a variety of temporalities, rhythms and intensities that simultaneously bring to the table certain contextual attributes inherent in emerging artistic practice in Barcelona and help to reappraise and question the institutional model at an infrastructural and human scale. The study groups of Schools of Context are geared towards this same artistic scene, establishing local dynamics with small, regular groups that will only be open to the public when the situation requires it

The group of people who made up the first edition (2022-23) of Schools of Context were Daniel Gasol, Marc Vives, Laia Estruch, Jara Rocha, Alexandra Laudo and Enric Farrés Duran.
